Dental Cleanings

During a dental cleaning, our dentist or hygienist at Designer Smiles Family Dentistry will not only remove plaque and tartar buildup but also assess your overall oral health for any potential issues. Common symptoms that may be noticed during a cleaning include gum redness, swelling, or bleeding, which can indicate gum disease or gingivitis. Sensitivity to touch or certain instruments may also be a sign of enamel wear or gum recession. In some cases, if signs of cavities, infection, or more advanced periodontal disease are detected, Dr. Clark may recommend further diagnostic tests, such as X-rays, to evaluate the extent of the issue. Early detection during a routine cleaning is crucial for preventing more serious oral health problems down the line.

New Patients Dental Hygiene Cleaning

Expect us to keep up on your needs with a comprehensive exam, dental x-rays, and a cleaning with your first visit. If periodontitis is evident, your cleaning will be done the following visit.

Diagnosis During a Dental Cleaning

Regular dental check-ups and cleanings are the cornerstone of preventive dental care. During these appointments, our skilled dental professionals will thoroughly examine your teeth, gums, and mouth for any signs of dental issues such as cavities, gum disease, or oral cancer. We’ll also provide a professional cleaning to remove plaque and tartar buildup, ensuring your smile stays healthy and bright.

Expect to come 15 mins early if you have not sent in your paperwork. Get comprehensive and periodontal evaluations at your first visit. A cleaning can be performed at that same appointment, in the absence of gum disease. Additional treatment will be discussed and scheduled for your convenience.
