What is a Wisdom Teeth Extraction ?
Wisdom tooth removal, or third molar extraction, is a common dental procedure performed to address impacted or problematic wisdom teeth that can cause pain, infection, crowding, or damage to adjacent teeth. Our experienced Dr. Clark uses advanced techniques to safely and gently remove wisdom teeth, alleviating discomfort and preventing future complications.
Extracting wisdom teeth is often an important step in maintaining long-term oral health. These third molars can become impacted or misaligned, leading to pain, swelling, or infection. In some cases, they can push against neighboring teeth, causing overcrowding or damage. By removing wisdom teeth before these issues arise, we can prevent complications, preserve your smile, and ensure better oral hygiene. Early extraction can also reduce the risk of cysts or other serious problems, making it a proactive approach to dental care.

Symptoms include feelings of pressure in the back of the jaw, or “earaches”. Impacted wisdom teeth can be diagnosed using x-rays and physical exam. Usually wisdom teeth can be removed around ages 14-16 years old to best avoid adverse effects, but is not limited to that range.
